Welcome to the homepage for the "From surviving to thriving" series.

This is the culmination of years of teaching made manifest.

My first rule of work runs through everything I do:
"If i am the best, may i stay that way. If i am not the best, may i become that way."

This pairs with my second rule of work:
"If cannot explain something simply enough, you do not understand it.

If you do not understand it, you cannot explain it.

If you cannot explain it - why are you doing it?"

These courses empower clinicians to understand the first principles and processes behind the patients and their conditions that we see every day.

By mastering these steps, you will go from a mere survivor, to thriving in your environment.

What is a risky decision to some, is perfectly reasonable to others.

The difference is often knowledge.

Knowledge is power. Cherish it well.

About Me

My name is Dr Alex Ip

For those who know me (and for that, i am truly sorry) you will know that I am an EM higher trainee (currently ST4). My mother tongue is sarcasm. I am well known for my various teaching methods. Be it directly on the shop floor, or through formal sessions. My question to those who seek my advice on the shop floor is always simple: "Do you wish to be told, or do you wish to be taught?" Understanding is not for everyone. Some prefer the safety of their protocols and guidelines and do not venture from them. One day though, this will fail them. However, as the saying goes: "You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make it drink." If you wish to understand, if you wish to improve, if you wish to be the best - then we can work with that.
