Day 1

Myocardial infarctions and their permutations.

Day 1 is aimed at the SHO who wishes to obtain mastery over the common cardiac presentations. From initial recognition all the way to management of arrest, you will gain the understanding needed to thrive in time-sensitive situations.

Covering various topics including but not limited to:

STEMI

Recognition is easy. Treating the complications, not so much. We start off with a bang — how to anticipate the common complications, stay in control when the patient deteriorates and the common pitfalls when discussing with PPCI.

Hidden STEMI

STEMI-equivalents. When the cathlab might be unsure, you must be. The eye does not see what the mind does not know. Make sure that you know!

Occlusion MI

Exploring the paradigm shift away from STEMI, and highlighting the failures of this age-old doctrine.

Day 2

Arrhythmias. The why, and the how.

Day 2. The advanced side of the course. Aimed at the Senior SHO/registrar. We dive into arrhythmias from the bradycardias to malignant tachycardias. Have the confidence to call the shots, because it will be you doing so!
